About The Author
Dan Jarvis
Dan Jarvis is a British politician and former Army officer.
He has served as Secretary of State for Defence since 2026. Previously, he was Minister of State for Security from 2024 to 2026.
Jarvis has been the Labour MP for Barnsley North since 2011. Prior to his political career, he served as an officer in the Parachute Regiment from 1997 to 2011, attaining the rank of Major before leaving the army to enter Parliament.
