Deborah Rowberry
Deborah Rowberry
Deborah Rowberry is a Senior Lecturer at Swansea University in the Department of Nursing. She has over 20 years of clinical experience in various settings, including neurology, acute medicine, cardiac ITU, and nephrology. Deborah transitioned into education nearly 15 years ago. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and has received the University’s Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award twice. Deborah previously worked as a Clinical Skills Educator for postgraduate medicine and undergraduate medical students. Her specialist and research interests include Simulation Based Education and Interprofessional Education.
Dr Lee Gauntlett
Dr Lee Gauntlett is a trainee anaesthetist working in South Wales with experience in intensive care medicine. He began his career as a healthcare support worker in several hospitals in the Midlands and volunteered with the British Red Cross before starting medical training in 2013. Dr. Gauntlett entered the medical profession as a mature student from a different career background and values diversity. He is passionate about teaching nurses, medical students, and allied health professionals, firmly believing that a multidisciplinary approach to learning can lead to improved patient outcomes.
Dr Libor Hurt
Dr Libor Hurt was born in the Czech Republic and moved to the UK at the age of 11. He started working as a hospital porter during summer holidays and evenings after college, continuing this role while studying Medical Sciences at De Montfort University. Following this, he pursued an MSc by Research in Learning Technology at the same institution before studying medicine at Swansea University. Dr. Hurt rotated through various medical and surgical specialties and ultimately began working as a general surgery specialty trainee. He enjoys teaching and mentoring and actively participates in these opportunities. He has presented his research nationally and internationally on topics such as antibiotic treatment of appendicitis during the COVID-19 pandemic and the outcomes of hepatic metastasectomy in patients with anal squamous cell carcinoma. In his free time, Dr. Hurt enjoys exploring the diverse Welsh landscape.
