Deborah Rowberry

Deborah Rowberry

Deborah Rowberry is a Senior Lecturer at Swansea University in the Department of Nursing. She brings over 20 years of clinical experience from diverse settings including neurology, acute medicine, cardiac ITU, and nephrology, transitioning into education nearly 15 years ago. Deborah is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and a two-time recipient of the University’s Excellence in Learning and Teaching Award. Her prior experience includes serving as a Clinical Skills Educator for postgraduate medicine and undergraduate Medical Students. Deborah’s specialist and research interests lie in Simulation Based Education and Interprofessional Education.

Dr Lee Gauntlett

Dr Lee Gauntlett is a trainee anaesthetist in South Wales with experience in intensive care medicine. His career commenced as a healthcare support worker in various Midlands hospitals and volunteering with the British Red Cross, before commencing medical training in 2013. Dr. Gauntlett entered the medical profession as a mature student with a prior career background, and he values diversity. He is passionate about teaching nurses, medical students, and allied health professionals, firmly believing that a multidisciplinary approach to learning enhances patient outcomes.

Dr Libor Hurt

Dr Libor Hurt was born in the Czech Republic and moved to the UK at the age of 11. He began working as a hospital porter during holidays and evenings after college, continuing this role while studying Medical Sciences at De Montfort University. He then pursued an MSc by Research in Learning Technology at the same institution before commencing his medical studies at Swansea University. After rotating through various medical and surgical specialities, he began working as a general surgery speciality trainee. Dr. Hurt enjoys teaching and mentoring, actively engaging in these activities whenever possible. He has presented his research nationally and internationally on topics such as antibiotic treatment for appendicitis during the COVID-19 pandemic and the outcomes of hepatic metastasectomy in patients with anal squamous cell carcinoma. In his leisure time, Dr. Hurt enjoys exploring the varied Welsh landscape.
