Don Farrands QC
Don Farrands was born in Melbourne and is the grandson of the stretcher bearer featured in the book.
After graduating from university, he practiced as a commercial lawyer and later as a financial advisor. His principal career, however, has been as a barrister at the Melbourne Bar, where he was recently appointed Senior Counsel. Don also possesses significant board-level experience, including with community organizations.
He is married to Sally and has two sons: Andrew, an officer in the Australian Army, and Jim, a secondary school teacher with a major in literature.
Don enjoys cycling and watching international rugby. He is also an avid classical music listener and previously played in the Canberra Symphony Orchestra.
