Doug Moench
Richard Corben was an American comics artist who came to prominence with the creation of his fantasy character, Den. Den was initially created for the underground comic Grim Wit, later appearing in the French publication Métal Hurlant, the American publication Heavy Metal, and the Heavy Metal movie.
During this period, Richard and Dona Corben founded Fantagor Press, a publishing company dedicated to Richard’s comics. Corben also began illustrating for major American comics publishers such as D.C., Marvel, and Dark Horse, among others.
