About The Author
Dr Liz Murray
Dr Liz Murray BCA(H), MBBS, Dip MedSci
Dr Liz Murray is a British medical doctor, author, and women’s health advocate specialising in menstrual health, chronic gynaecological conditions, and patient-led healthcare reform.
A former NHS doctor, she bridges clinical expertise with lived experience to address the widespread normalisation of menstrual pain and delayed diagnosis in women’s healthcare. Her work focuses on conditions including endometriosis, adenomyosis, PCOS, premature ovarian insufficiency, and PMDD.
After navigating her own health challenges including autoimmune disease, endometriosis, secondary infertility and a hysterectomy in her early 30’s Liz began utilising her unique insight as both patient and doctor to strive for patient-centric care reforms.
Liz is the founder of the charity Mortal And Strong, which supports individuals navigating complex diagnoses and recovery from serious illness, and leads public education initiatives on health equity and patient empowerment.
For her work as an activist for health inequalities, Liz was the recipient of the British Citizen Award (People’s Honours) for her services to health.
Through writing, speaking, and media commentary, Liz works to improve understanding of menstrual health as a vital component of whole-body wellbeing.
