What They're Saying

Critics Review

Advance praise for Sucker Falls

“I wanna tell you about a ladybug that bends wills with her words.
Who manipulates political language in a way that you’re not sure you’ve heard,
Until a casino is built and mineral rights transferred.
I wanna tell you about Sucker Falls, and how by reading this book you’ll be enthralled,
Of the tale of a family often on the run,
Who wander into some Bay Street diamond boys looking for fun.
Everyone thinks that they’re gonna get rich,
But the suckers have left and it all goes to shit.
I wanna tell you that I will play.
Once you pick up this book, you’ll not stay away.”
Conor Kerr, author of Prairie Edge

“Drew Hayden Taylor is a prolific, thoughtful, and gifted storyteller who just keeps getting better, book after book. In Sucker Falls, Taylor spins a wild, hilarious roller coaster of a caper that had me turning the pages at breakneck speed while casting the movie in my mind. You’ll never forget the ambitious Ladybug LaFlesche as she subverts convention—and all the rules—in realizing her dream, while staying one step ahead of police. Drew Hayden Taylor has done it again.”
Terry Fallis, two-time winner of the Leacock Medal for Humour
