About The Author
Duncan Ferguson
Duncan Ferguson is a former Scottish footballer who began his career at Dundee United in 1990. He moved to Rangers in 1993 for a British transfer record fee of £4 million and won seven caps for the Scottish national team.
After a period of incarceration in 1995, Ferguson spent the remainder of his playing career in England. He had two spells with Everton (1994-1998 and 2000-2006), winning the FA Cup in 1995. He also played for Newcastle United between 1998 and 2000. Ferguson holds the record for most goals scored by a Scottish player in the Premier League (68).
As a coach, Ferguson served as caretaker manager and assistant manager at Everton, working with managers such as Carlo Ancelotti. He coached several young players who went on to represent England, including John Stones, Ross Barkley, Dele Alli, and Dominic Calvert-Lewin. Most recently, he has managed Forest Green Rovers and Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
