About The Author
Eric Hill
Eric Hill OBE (1927-2014) was the creator of the beloved children’s character Spot. He began his artistic journey as an art studio messenger, transitioning into a career as a cartoonist before becoming an art director at a prominent advertising agency.
In 1978, Eric conceived a bedtime story for his son about a small puppy, and thus, Spot was created. His first book, “Where’s Spot?”, was published in 1980. This interactive children’s book featured an innovative lift-the-flap format, accompanied by a simple narrative and endearing, distinctive illustrations. The book’s immediate success prompted Eric to dedicate himself fully to writing. Since then, Spot books have delighted children globally and have been adapted into audiobooks, animations, toys, and games.
