Ford Madox Ford
Born Ford Hermann Hueffer in Surrey in 1873, Ford Madox Ford was a prolific writer who published over 80 books during his career. His notable novels include The Inheritors, Romance, The Fifth Queen, and The Good Soldier. He also authored autobiographical works such as Return to Yesterday, It was the Nightingale, and The March of Literature.
In 1915, Ford enlisted in the army and served as an infantry soldier during the First World War. His experiences in the war formed the basis for his acclaimed novel Parade’s End, which was published in four parts between 1924 and 1928.
Ford Madox Ford passed away in Deauville, France, in 1939.
