Fulton J. Sheen
Fulton J. Sheen (1895-1979) was a prominent Catholic leader in American history. He served as bishop of Rochester and national director of the Society for the Propagation of the Faith. Sheen was also television’s first religious broadcaster, hosting the popular program Life Is Worth Living on the ABC network. His cause for canonization is under consideration, and he was beatified by Pope Leo XIV in 2026.
