Georgette Heyer was the author of over fifty books and is widely recognized as the foremost historical novelist, particularly for her contributions to the Regency period. Her debut novel, The Black Moth, was published in 1921 when she was just fifteen years old, written to entertain her brother during his recovery. Her final work was My Lord John.

Heyer also penned twelve detective novels, which garnered significant critical praise and led to her being dubbed the ‘Queen of Crime.’ She passed away in 1974 at the age of seventy-one.
