Gillian Rowe is a full-time writer and researcher focusing on marginalized groups, including the GRT community. She has edited and authored chapters for this book, as well as contributing to the Learning Matters imprint on health promotion and ethics for nursing associates. Gillian brings extensive healthcare experience, having been a qualified nurse and later managed a large residential care facility. She also holds a PGCE and has lectured for Plymouth University, and is an Associate Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (AFHEA).

Dr. Scott Ellis holds a doctorate in education and has dedicated the past decade to researching public health, sexual health, and masculinities. He is a senior lecturer at the University of Sunderland in London and collaborates with the Care Quality Commission to inspect healthcare services. Scott is a Fellow of Advance HE and a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health.

Deborah Gee qualified as a registered nurse in 2006, with experience in Neonatal Intensive Care and Community District Nursing. In 2010, she completed her PGDip SCPHN qualification and has extensive experience as a health visitor, assessing health needs for families, young children, and the wider population. Deborah holds an MSc in Education in Professional Practice, recognized teacher status with the NMC, and has 10 years of higher education teaching experience. She is a fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Michelle Henderson is a qualified adult nurse and Specialist Community Public Health Nurse (SCPHN). She holds an MSc in Healthcare Leadership and is a registered coach. Michelle has worked across various NHS clinical specialties and non-NHS settings, specializing in public health. Her experience includes roles as Sister in Occupational Health, a health protection nurse at Public Health England, and workforce lead for Nursing and Midwifery development for Health Education England. She has also tutored Trainee Nursing Associates. Currently, Michelle works as a senior nurse in the Northeast and Cumbria Nursing and Quality team at NHS England. She is a mentor for the Social Mobility Foundation and is passionate about health inequalities, social mobility, and workforce development.

Ami Jackson began her nursing career as a cadet nurse and completed her pre-registration training in 2007. She holds a Practice Development degree and has worked in areas including stroke rehabilitation, acute older persons’ medicine, intensive care, and orthopaedic surgery. Ami gained significant leadership and management experience as a ward sister on an orthopaedic trauma unit and later as a Practice Placement Facilitator. She now tutors Student Nursing Associates at Teesside University and holds a master’s degree in Global Leadership.

Jade Webb (formerly Jade Carter-Bennett) has been a qualified social worker since 2015, specializing in supporting young people transitioning to adulthood. She holds a BA Hons Social Work Degree and has completed post-qualification studies. Jade has achieved the Experienced Social Worker level of the Professional Capabilities Framework and is currently training as a Practice Educator. She works as a Senior Practitioner Social Worker in Adult Social Care’s Preparing for Adulthood Team for a local authority.
