Critics Review
“It made me cry. It made me angry. It made me reflect, and in the end, it left me in awe of Aaron’s indomitable will to live and the strength it took to reclaim his humanity during one of history’s darkest chapters.” – Zipora Amy Salzhauer, Community Organizer, Valencia Palms
Howard B. Herskowitz
The son of two Holocaust survivors, Howard Herskowitz was inspired by the heroic legacy of his father who dedicated his life to fighting for the rights of oppressed victims and standing up for underdogs against powerful adversaries. He vigorously pursues justice with unwavering commitment. As a youngster, Howard was always thrilled by his father’s tales of his escapes from the Nazis, from the Hungarians, and from the Russians. However, young Howard’s follow-up question, “So Dad, how many Nazis did you kill?” went unanswered until late in his father’s life when Aaron Herskowitz at last gave his son the uncensored version of his wartime experiences. Howard’s jaw dropped in shock, realizing that he must memorialize his dad’s remarkable story, resulting in the spell-binding book, Aaron’s Revenge.
