J. Dillard
J. Dillard is an expert barber who started cutting hair at the age of ten. After many trials and tribulations, he began cutting hair professionally in 1999 and became the owner of a barbershop while studying at Tuskegee University in Alabama. Today, he lives in Atlanta and travels throughout the United States year-round as a personal barber. J.D. the Kid Barber is his children’s book series, and it includes: J.D. and the Great Barber Battle, J.D. and the Family Business, and J.D. at the Stylist Expo.
Akeem S. Roberts is a Brooklyn-based illustrator. He works as an animator for Holler Studios and is a regular contributor of cartoons to The New Yorker magazine. He is a graduate of the University of South Carolina. When Akeem is not working, he enjoys eating (who doesn’t?), drinking coffee, and drawing comics about his daily life.
