Jad G. Sfeir, M.D., MSc, CCD, FACP, FACE
Dr. Sfeir is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota. He holds a dual appointment in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, Metabolism and Nutrition and the Division of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology in the Department of Medicine.
He is a graduate of the American University of Beirut. Dr. Sfeir completed his residency in internal medicine at Lankenau Medical Center in Pennsylvania, followed by fellowships in endocrinology and geriatrics at Mayo Clinic.
Dr. Sfeir was the inaugural Kogod Scholar at the Robert and Arlene Kogod Center on Aging. He continues to research biomarkers of cellular senescence in the musculoskeletal system, as well as skeletal senescence in type 2 diabetes.
His clinical interests include:
- Secondary fracture prevention
- Skeletal health in diabetes
- Rare bone diseases
- Prevention and management of age-related decline in bone and muscle strength, which can lead to osteoporosis, frailty, and sarcopenia.
