James (Jim) D. Cox
- Senior Director of Animal and Biological Services at the Howard Hughes Medical Institute’s Janelia Research Campus.
- Leads multidisciplinary teams supporting neuroscience and cell physiology research.
- Established Janelia’s animal care and use program, including the IACUC, institutional policies, and service infrastructure.
- Previous roles at SmithKline, University of Pennsylvania, Georgetown University, and Charles River Laboratories.

- Served in leadership and editorial roles within AALAS and the Laboratory Animal Management Association (LAMA).

- Earned AALAS credentials: Laboratory Animal Technologist (LATG) and Certified Manager of Animal Resources (CMAR).
- Became active in AALAS, serving on committees and as a trustee.
- Managed a transgenic mouse barrier facility at Caltech.
- Managed the research compliance office (IACUC and IRB) at Cal Poly Pomona (CPP), where he also taught veterinary technology students.
- Obtained the Certified Professional in IACUC Administration (CPIA) credential from PRIM&R.
- Completed a doctorate in educational leadership at CPP.
