Jamgon Kongtrul
JAMG N KONGTRUL LODR TAYE (1813-1899), a pivotal figure in eastern Tibet’s nonsectarian movement, was one of the most outstanding writers and teachers of his time.
GYURME DORJE (1950-2020) held a master’s degree in Sanskrit (University of Edinburgh) and a PhD in Tibetan literature (SOAS, University of London). He wrote, edited, translated, and contributed to numerous books on Tibetan culture, among them The Nyingma School of Tibetan Buddhism, The Tibetan Book of the Dead, Indo-Tibetan Classical Learning and Buddhist Phenomenology, The Essential Tantras of Mahayoga, and Philosophical Systems and Lines of Transmission.
