“Jamie writes for teen girls with the wisdom of someone who has been there herself, combined with extensive clinical knowledge. This book breaks down complex scientific and psychological concepts into useful takeaways for teens to understand and affirm themselves. –Rhiannon Theurer, LMFT, author of The Neurodivergence Workbook for Teens
“Jamie Roberts addresses the real challenges neurodivergent teen girls face with wisdom and practicality. This book brilliantly validates the teen experience while providing practical strategies for emotional regulation, managing sensory needs, and developing authentic relationships. Roberts’s combination of clinical expertise and lived experience creates an invaluable resource I’ll be referencing often in my work with teens and parents.
–Katie K. May, LPC, therapist, founder of Creative Healing, and author of You’re on Fire, It’s Fine: Effective Strategies for Parenting Teens with Self-Destructive Behaviors
“Neurodivergent girls deserve a book that truly sees them. This is that book. Courageous, compassionate, and wise, Jamie Roberts validates experiences so often dismissed while illuminating strengths so often overlooked. Filled with practical tools and meaningful insights, this deeply affirming book empowers neurodivergent girls to embrace their true selves. This is the guide I needed growing up.”
–Karissa Burnett, PhD, autistic psychologist, neurodiversity advocate, and founder of Divergent Pathways
“Reading this as a clinical psychologist of color who grew up without language for Autism/ADHD or giftedness-related differences, I felt the deep mix of relief and grief Jamie describes. Relief, because she names and normalizes experiences that I now see everyday in my neuropsychological assessment work. Grief, because this kind of validating, practical, and intersectional guide did not exist when I needed it as a teen. This book is a living example of centering neurodivergent voices while delivering grounded psychoeducation.”
–Monica Blied, PhD, MACL, clinical psychologist specializing in neuro-affirming assessments, and creator of the Faces of Health app and online courses at
“This is a heartfelt and empowering resource for neurodivergent teens and the adults who support them. Roberts writes with clarity, compassion, and authenticity, weaving lived experience and clinical insight into an accessible, affirming guide. She invites readers to understand themselves with curiosity rather than shame–a message so many teens need to hear. An affirming read for any teen learning to embrace how their brain works.”
–Megan Anna Neff, PsyD, clinical psychologist and founder of Neurodivergent Insights
