About The Author

Jennifer Boles

Jennifer Boles is a writer and cultural historian. She started one of the first design blogs, “The Peak of Chic,” in 2006. Her website focuses on design trends, historical homes, history of design, and all things design-related. Named “blogosphere darling” by Departures magazine, Jennifer has been featured in numerous publications including The New York Times, Town & Country, Elle Decor, Tatler, and Wall Street Journal. Jennifer is a contributing writer with Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles, Luxe, and Southern Home, and was previously a contributing editor for both House Beautiful and Veranda. Her books include In with the Old- Classic Decor from A to Z and her most recent, Inspired Design- The 100 Most Important Interior Designers of the Past 100 Years. Jennifer lives in Atlanta, Georgia and when she’s not writing, reading, or thinking about design, she spends her time traveling, collecting antique and vintage ceramics, and buying far too many books.

Steele Thomas Marcoux is the editor of Veranda and a veteran of the design publishing industry, having served in senior editorial roles at County Living, Coastal Living, and Southern Living. She serves on the board of directors for the Alabama School of Fine Arts in Birmingham, where she lives with her husband, two sons, and dog.
