About The Author

John Tarachine

John Tarachine is a pen name. Born in 1989 in Hyogo Prefecture, Japan, she initially explored filmmaking in art school but found a greater affinity for solo work, leading her to pursue a career in manga. After graduation, she embarked on a world trip, setting a personal deadline to establish herself as a manga artist by age twenty-five. She debuted in 2015 with Good Night, I Love You, a story about a man fulfilling his mother’s dying wish in London. Her subsequent works include a manga adaptation of the Netflix series Sex Education and the fantasy manga Witch of Thistle Castle. Discovering a preference for shojo manga, she collaborated with an editor from Mystery Bonita magazine, resulting in the critically acclaimed The Credits Roll into the Sea. Tarachine also creates BL manga under the name John Taratsumi.

Jocelyne Allen is a Japanese translator and interpreter who divides her time between Toronto and Tokyo. She has translated numerous works, including the Eisner Award-winning Lovesickness by Junji Ito and Onward Toward Our Noble Deaths by Shigeru Mizuki, and the Harvey Award-winning My Lesbian Experience With Loneliness by Nagata Kabi. Her other translated works include the acclaimed Our Dreams at Dusk by Yuhki Kamatani and the classic shojo manga The Rose of Versailles by Riyoko Ikeda. As an interpreter, she has worked with prominent Japanese authors and artists such as Sayaka Murata, Inio Asano, Mieko Kawakami, and Natsume Ono. The Credits Roll Into the Sea is her first work for Dark Horse.
