Summary
Blending wit, whimsy, and reflection, this collection invites readers into a world where almost anything can become a poem. Everyday frustrations, childhood memories, aging, language quirks, family stories, animals, technology, and health mishaps are transformed into rhymed observations that are often funny, occasionally tender, and always unmistakably personal. Joe’s voice is curious, candid, and self-aware, turning minor annoyances and unlikely topics into comic set pieces while also pausing to consider grief, friendship, creativity, and the persistence of hope.

Joseph Connolly Smith
Joseph “Joe” Connolly Smith is a Louisville, Kentucky native and the fifth of ten children. A graduate of the University of Louisville, he earned high honors in business management in 1978 before going on to a thirty-four-year career in the plastics industry, where he held managerial positions in several locations across the United States.
Joe’s interest in poetry became a serious creative outlet during a prolonged hospital stay in 1995. Since then, his writing has explored a wide range of subjects, including the lived experience of bipolar disorder, humor, disappointment, dreams, poetic forms and techniques, tributes, and reflections drawn from everyday life.
