Kent McInnis
Kent McInnis is an Oklahoma-born pilot and author who served as an Air Force jet instructor pilot from 1971 to 1973, during the final years of the Vietnam War. He then spent 33 years working in the pharmaceutical industry. After retiring in 2008, Kent transitioned his literary hobby into a full-time writing career.
He has published the novels Sierra Hotel, Clear and a Million, and Semper Fly, a trilogy chronicling the life of an Air Force pilot during and after the Vietnam War. His fourth novel, Detail Man, which delves into the pharmaceutical industry, was released in 2024.
Kent is now returning to the stories of the most exciting period of his life: becoming an Air Force jet pilot. In his memoir, Tales of the Rio River Rats, he guides readers through the dedication, hard work, and camaraderie involved in achieving military pilot status, sharing stories from over fifty fellow students in the class known as “The Rio River Rats.”
Kent continues to write novels, speak to various groups, and travel internationally with his wife, Cheryl.
