About The Author
Kentaro Miura
Kentaro Miura debuted a 48-page manga, Berserk Prototype, in 1988 while attending Nihon University. It won him a prize from the Comi Manga School and served as an introduction to the Berserk fantasy world. In 1989, after receiving a doctorate degree, Miura started King of Wolves based on a script by Buronson, writer of Hokuto no Ken (Fist Of The North Star). The first volume of Berserk was released in 1990. Miura again collaborated with Buronson on Japan. Miura’s fame grew after Berserk began “The Golden Age” story arc. In 1997, Miura supervised the production of 25 anime episodes of Berserk that aired on NTV. In 2002, Miura received second place in the Tezuka Osamu Cultural Prize of Excellence for Berserk. He lived in Tokyo, Japan.
