Summary
Ever since Bo can remember, she and her papas have lived in the little Alaskan mining town of Ballard Creek. Now the family must leave to work at a dredge mine, far away in Iditarod country. Bo and her family follow many rivers to get to Iditarod Creek. And what a strange place it is! The dredges are screek-ity loud and the whole town is built atop mounds of gravel. Initially homesick, Bo soon realizes there is friendship to be found everywhere … and Iditarod Creek may hold some surprises for her already unconventional family.

Kirkpatrick Hill
Kirkpatrick Hill lives in Fairbanks, Alaska. In addition to her first book about Bo, Bo at Ballard Creek, she is the author of eight other books for young readers, including Winter Camp and the award-winning The Year of Miss Agnes.
LeUyen Pham has illustrated numerous popular books for children, including Bo at Ballard Creek and The Boy Who Loved Math: The Improbable Life of Paul Erdös by Deborah Heiligman. She is also the author and illustrator of Big Sister, Little Sister and A Piece of Cake. She lives in San Francisco.
