Klaus Höllig
Klaus Höllig was a postdoctoral fellow and Van Vleck assistant professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison before being appointed associate professor at Texas A&M University. He returned to Madison one year later as a member of the computer sciences faculty, serving until 1988. Subsequently, he directed the chair for Numerical Analysis and Geometric Modeling at the University of Stuttgart. He contributed to the theory of B-splines, leading to the books Finite Element Methods with B-Splines (SIAM, 2003) and, with Jörg Hörner, Approximation and Modeling with B-Splines (SIAM, 2013). Building on the success of Mathematik-Online, a calculus website that he codirected, he continues to develop and enhance teaching tools for undergraduate mathematics courses.
