Born, raised, and educated in Lincoln, Nebraska, USA, Laurel A. Rockefeller’s passion for history shines through in her writing, both fiction and non-fiction. A former medieval reenactor in the Society for Creative Anachronism, Laurel brings twenty years of hands-on historical experience to complement her university training in medieval and Asian history. She has personally experienced the past by wearing the clothes, eating the food, spinning yarn, performing music, and dancing the dances featured in her work.
Laurel’s books are available in digital, paperback, and hardcover formats, translated into up to ten languages. Audio editions are published in English, French, Spanish, and German, often featuring period music performed by actor-musicians. You can also hear Laurel’s own voice on three audiobooks: Catherine de Valois (Spanish edition), The Arban and the Saman, and Songs of the Beinarian Court.
Beyond her advocacy for animal welfare and related environmental causes, Laurel A. Rockefeller is a dedicated educator committed to enhancing global history literacy, with a particular focus on women’s achievements. In her leisure time, Laurel enjoys the company of her cockatiels, traveling to historical sites, and watching classic films and television series.
