Summary

A gangland slaying. A missing movie star. When an actor goes missing in Glasgow, the clue to his whereabouts could be in the film script itself.

In the dead of night, a man’s body is found strapped to a chair in Glasgow’s Elder Park, his identity unknown. Forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod thinks the violence displayed at the scene suggests a gangland feud. And, when the post-mortem uncovers a bullet engraved with a snake’s head in the man’s stomach, Rhona’s suspicions intensify.

What They're Saying

Critics Review

Forensic scientist Rhona MacLeod has become one of the most satisfying characters in modern crime fiction * Daily Mail *
Lin Anderson is one of Scotland’s national treasures – don’t be fooled by comparisons, her writing is unique, bringing warmth and depth to even the seediest parts of Glasgow – Stuart MacBride, author of the Logan McRae series
The best Scottish crime series Rebus * Daily Record *
Anderson is really, really good, one of those authors who richly deserves to be far better known and much more widely read. In her latest she has given us her usual complex plot which will take a lot of meaty pages to sort. * Winnipeg Free Press *
