About The Author

Logan Bench

Logan Bench is a Montana native and a father to five boys. Since the day each of them was born, his greatest purpose has been raising strong, resilient sons. Logan’s life changed forever when his second-oldest, Maverick, was diagnosed with a life-threatening illness in 2020. Through pain, hope, and unimaginable loss, Logan became the voice behind Maverick’s Journey, a story that captured hearts across the world and ignited a movement of hope, love, and resilience. His daily journal entries reached tens of thousands and became the foundation of this book.

Logan continues to raise his sons Jasper, Sawyer, Colter, and Carson with the same strength and heart that defined their brother, Maverick. He is the founder of Maverick’s Army Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting children battling medical crises and empowering youth through athletics and leadership. The foundation also proudly supports Toys for Tots through the United States Marine Corps, honoring Maverick’s memory by bringing joy to children each Christmas.

If this book moved you, Logan hopes you’ll carry Maverick’s story forward in how you love your children, fight for what matters, and live with purpose. You only get one life, and it only takes one moment, one phone call, for everything to change. So live with bravery. Live with courage. Never feel sorry for yourself, even in the darkest moments. And above all, do Whatever It Takes.
