Manuel Vázquez
Manuel Vázquez brings over 30 years of extensive experience in the magnetism of micro- and nanowires, leading numerous scientific and technological projects as Principal Investigator. He served as Head of Laboratory at the Institute of Applied Magnetism in Madrid from 1992 to 2000. Following this, he established the Group on Nanomagnetism and Magnetization Processes at the Institute of Materials Sciences of Madrid, CSIC, in 2001, where he currently holds the position of Ad Honorem Professor.
From 2004 to 2009, Dr. Vázquez managed the Strategic Action on Nanoscience and Nanotechnology for the Spanish Ministry of Science and Education. He has also actively contributed to various international organizations, including the IEEE Magnetics Society, where he founded the Spain Chapter in 2007. His involvement extends to serving as Chair of Intermag in 2008, Secretary of the IUPAP Commission on Magnetism from 2011 to 2015, and Program Chair for ICM2015.
In recognition of his contributions, Dr. Vázquez received the Salvador Velayos Magnetism Award in 2016. He further distinguished himself by serving as President of the IEEE Magnetics Society from 2017 to 2018 and was honored with its Distinguished Lecturer Award in 2023.
