Pot-pourri(re)

A mixture of stewed meats and vegetables, in short, different things that can, however, go together pleasantly well. This, then, is the pot-pourri, a simple but tasty dish to savor that makes simplicity its strength. A selection of readings drawn from various works, running, in a disorderly and somewhat hasty manner, up and down between the 19th and early 20th centuries, with the sole criterion of selection being entertainment, their ability to make one laugh or, at least, elicit a smile. This, then, is our pot pour rire, a container for laughter. Nothing more, nothing less.
