Mary Ladd
Mary Ladd is the Long Hauler Publishing founding editor. She has written about meat clothing, withered sexuality, medical debt, and pizza champions for the San Francisco Chronicle, Playboy, Health, Wildfire Magazine, and the best-selling 642 Things to Write About and Lit Starts books. Mary collaborated with Anthony Bourdain and later created The Wig Diaries: An Irreverent Cancer Book with illustrator Don Asmussen. She is We Wai Kai First Nation, belongs to the Writers Grotto, and first experienced Long COVID symptoms in early 2022.
Andrew David King is a doctoral student in English at UC Berkeley, where they serve as the Director of the Disabled Students Advocacy Project for the Graduate Assembly. A New Literary Project Simpson Fellow and University of California Humanities Research Institute grantee, they identify as disabled and chronically ill.
Regan McMahon is a veteran journalist, feature writer, editor, book critic, and book editor who worked at the San Francisco Chronicle for more than 20 years, then as the book editor at Common Sense Media for almost 12 years. She is the copy editor of ZYZZYVA, the San Francisco literary journal, and is also a published author whose nonfiction book Revolution in the Bleachers (Gotham/Penguin) was named a San Francisco Chronicle notable book in 2007. She now edits fiction and nonfiction. Recent books she edited include Joseph Di Prisco’s novel The Good Family Fitzgerald and Mary Ladd’s cancer memoir, The Wig Diaries.
