About The Author

Maxim Jakubowski

Maxim Jakubowski is a noted anthology editor based in London, where he was born. With over 70 volumes to his credit, his notable works include 13 annual volumes of The Mammoth Book of Best British Mysteries, as well as titles on Professor Moriarty, Jack the Ripper, Future Crime, and Vintage Whodunits. He was a publisher for over 20 years, co-owner of London’s Murder One bookstore, and served as the crime columnist for Time Out and then The Guardian for 22 years. Stories from his anthologies have won numerous awards in the field. He is currently the Chair of the Crime Writers’ Association and a Sunday Times bestselling novelist in another genre.

Joe R. Lansdale (born October 28, 1951) is an American author, best known for his Hap and Leonard series. He has written novels and stories in many genres, including Western, horror, science fiction, and suspense. He is the winner of the British Fantasy Award, the Grinzani Cavour Prize for Literature, the American Horror Award, the Edgar Award, and eight Bram Stoker Awards.
