About The Author

Nick Clegg

Nick Clegg recently stepped down as President, Global Affairs at Meta, where he served as the company’s chief policy decision-maker and its principal interlocutor with world leaders, governments, and policymakers. Previously, he was Deputy Prime Minister of the UK.

At Meta, Clegg advocated for the company’s engagement with regulation, established an independent Oversight Board, and facilitated rigorous academic research. He managed critical issues including content policy and elections. He made key decisions regarding the suspension and subsequent reinstatement of President Trump, the company’s response to misinformation during the Covid-19 pandemic, and its actions concerning Russian state media and covert operations following the invasion of Ukraine.
