About The Author
NisiOisiN
NisiOisin, born in 1981, is one of Japan’s most successful authors. He dropped out of Ritsumeikan University in Kyoto to pursue writing, after realizing his comic art skills were insufficient. At age 20, he won the 23rd Mephisto Prize for Kubikiri Cycle, recognizing his mystery writing talents. Since his 2002 debut, Nisio has authored over 50 novels and several comics, becoming a top-selling author in Japan with over 5 million units sold since 2009. He was the top-selling author in Japan in both 2012 and 2014. Nishio’s works often explore youth themes within familiar genres, blending mystery with comedy, romance, and the supernatural. He experiments with the Japanese language, and many of his works have been adapted into animated series and films. His best-known works include the Monogatari series and Katanagatari.
