About The Author

Paul Walter Odomirok, Sr.

Paul W. Odomirok, Sr. has a distinguished career spanning five decades, encompassing academia, engineering, manufacturing, corporate leadership, consulting, and entrepreneurship.

His initial career involved teaching mathematics and computer science across all educational levels, from pre-school to post-doctoral. He also contributed to curriculum design as an adjunct professor at the University of South Carolina.

In 1985, Odomirok began his second career at NCR (National Cash Register). He progressed through various roles, including Senior Programmer Analyst, Manager of Software Development, Product Manager, Corporate Strategic Planner for banking and retail, Director of Retail Systems Product Integration, Director of Quality and Customer Satisfaction, and Corporate Coach. Notably, he played a role in the NCR/AT&T merger and led cultural transformation and change initiatives for the Retail Systems Division’s Lean Manufacturing Plant as Director of Quality.

Drawing on his experience with the Bell Labs Organization Effectiveness Group and the Harvard Business School T.E.A.M. Research Study, Odomirok transitioned to consulting in 1995, focusing on leadership, strategy, and performance improvement. Over the past 30 years, he has served 137 organizations, completing over 300 projects and programs for clients such as Anixter, AT&T, Boeing, Boston Whaler, Emory, Fibervisions, Georgia Hospitals, IISE, Motorola, GM, NASA, Northrop Grumman, Perkins and Will, the U.S. Department of Defense, and numerous major universities. He has worked across diverse markets including engineering, manufacturing, healthcare, aerospace, telecommunications, government, defense, supply chain, energy, retail, banking, and higher education.

Odomirok is the author of Affordability: Integration of Value, Customer and Cost for Continuous Improvement (released December 2016) and Healthcare Affordability: Motivate People, Improve Processes, and Increase Performance (released September 2018).

He is currently the president and CEO of Performance Excellence Associates, Inc.
