Peter Bergting
Peter Bergting is a Swedish author of fantasy, science fiction, and horror, born January 23, 1970. He has published six young adult novels and three graphic novels, alongside numerous short stories and editorials in both Swedish and English. In collaboration with others, Bergting has authored or co-authored over 50 books, including 20 graphic novels, which have been published in the US, Sweden, Norway, Spain, Finland, France, Germany, Denmark, and Italy.
His career began nearly 30 years ago with illustrations for the magazine Sinkadus. For almost a decade, Bergting worked exclusively on roleplaying games for companies such as Target Games, FASA Corporation, Paizo Publishing, and White Wolf. He contributed artwork to over 40 consecutive issues of Dungeon Magazine, as well as art for Vampire, Mage, and Werewolf, Iron Crown Enterprises, Steve Jackson Games, and Mutant Chronicles, totaling hundreds of books and games.
In 2006, Bergting released The Portent, his first graphic novel as both author and artist, marking a new phase in his career.
His collaborations include graphic novels with Alexander Irvine, Jens Lapidus, Richard Morgan, Clive Barker, and Joe R. Lansdale. Bergting’s four most recent graphic novels, Baltimore: The Witch of Harju, The Cult of the Red King, Empty Graves, The Red Kingdom, and Joe Golem: The Conjurors, were created with Mike Mignola and Christopher Golden and are published by Dark Horse Comics.
Additionally, Bergting has provided cover and interior artwork for numerous children’s and fantasy books, featuring authors and artists like Philip Pullman, J.R.R. Tolkien, Astrid Lindgren, and Frank Frazetta.
