Peter J. Griffiths
Peter Griffiths is an Australian author, community advocate, and public servant based in Bathurst, New South Wales. His writing explores the distance between who we really are and who we are expected to be—the identities we inherit, the roles we assume, and the labels others place upon us.
Drawing on lived experience and a background in mental health and public service, Peter writes about love, grief, dignity, belonging, and the systems that shape people’s lives. He is particularly interested in what happens when a role becomes our whole identity, when assumptions replace understanding, and when we begin to discover ourselves beyond other people’s expectations. His late wife, Mandy, remains a lasting influence on his writing and his appreciation for genuine connection.
Across his books, Peter encourages readers to look beyond the label and recognize the person
