This 116-page special publication reveals the pivotal role played by tanks in World War Two. The Allied and Axis armies used them in battles from the green fields of northwest Europe to the baking deserts of North Africa, and from the frozen steppe of the Soviet Union to the coral islands of the Pacific. This publication looks at the wide range of tanks developed by the combatants during the arms race that took place between 1939 and 1945.
