Critics Review

What I find most fascinating in Stefano Micali’s new book is not the secrets he reveals about how to succeed in philosophy, but the hermeneutics he applies to successful philosophers. I’m certain that Giorgio Agamben, Slavoj Žižek, and Martha Nussbaum would be very surprised to learn how Micali exposes their dominant argumentative strategies. This is both conceptually agile and refreshingly ironic. I recommend it. * Santiago Zabala, ICREA Research Professor at Pompeu Fabra University, Spain, and author of Signs from the Future: A Philosophy of Warnings (2025) *
Have you always wanted to know why some philosophers succeed in becoming prestigious? Have you had doubts as to whether their fame is deserved, and will be lasting? This witty and intelligent book will deliver you answers to both questions. * Vittorio Hösle, Professor of German Studies, Philosophy, and Political Science, University of Notre Dame, USA *
