Rehan Hyder
Dr Rehan Hyder has been teaching and writing about ethnicity, cultural identity, and popular culture for nearly 30 years. His writing about questions of race and identity is internationally recognized, drawing plaudits from the IASPM (International Association for the Study of Popular Music) and reflected in his role in the Goethe Institute’s groundbreaking Ten Cities project.
Publications include his award-winning book, Brimful of Asia, and a number of essays on music, youth culture, and ethnicity. He has also written on horror in television and film, publishing works on Hammer’s colonial movies and the work of the screen-writer Nigel Kneale, as well as contributing to The Ashgate Encyclopaedia of Literary and Cinematic Monsters.
