Summary
In Rebuilt Beyond the Broken, Rev. Dr. Dorothy Osgood draws from Ezekiel 37 and the valley of dry bones to reveal a powerful biblical pattern for the restoration of God’s church. This book traces God’s rebuilding work—from scattered, dismembered bones to a living, Spirit-filled body. Each chapter follows one stage of that transformation—foundation, connection, image, covering, life, and power—to show how God restores His church from brokenness to spiritual strength.

REV Dr Dorothy Osgood
Rev. Dr. Dorothy Osgood grew up in Midville, Georgia, where her spiritual foundation was formed at the Straight Gate Church of God. She continued her education at Berea College (BS), Ohio State University (MSW), and the University of Maryland at Baltimore (PhD).
Her professional life has been devoted to strengthening families and shaping future leaders in social work. She served in higher education as a professor in the Social Work Department at Shippensburg University and later as chair of the Social Work Department at Benedict College. During her academic tenure, she presented at conferences nationally and internationally. After retiring from academia, she continued her service as a Family Life Consultant with the military and through private practice.
A lifelong servant in ministry, Dr. Osgood has held roles as a youth counselor, Sunday School teacher, and missionary educator in Tokyo, Japan, where she taught at one of the Church of God schools, and supported career missionaries in their church ministries. Her service extended to the National Leadership Board of the National Association of the Church of God, the In-Service Training Institute in Anderson, Indiana, and the Credential and Finance Committees of the Georgia Fellowship of the Church of God.
Her pastoral ministry includes serving congregations in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Georgia—culminating in her return as pastor of her home church, Straight Gate, and later New Generation Church of God in Augusta.
