About The Author

Robyn Ewing

Robyn Ewing (AM) is Professor of Teacher Education and the Arts at the University of Sydney. Previously a primary teacher, she is a passionate advocate for the arts’ transformative potential in learning. Her teaching, research, and publications focus on using drama strategies with literature to enhance English and literacy learning. Ewing has collaborated with Sydney Theatre Company on the School Drama professional learning program since 2009, aiming to boost primary teachers’ confidence and expertise in using drama with literature. She serves on the Council of the Australian Film, Television and Radio School (AFTRS), the Board of WestWords, and as an Honorary Scholar with Barking Gecko Theatre. She is also the past president of the Australian Literacy Educators’ Association and the Primary English Teaching Association Australia.

John Nicholas Saunders is Education Manager at Sydney Theatre Company.
