Roger Hargreaves
Agatha Christie
Agatha Christie was born in Torquay in 1890 and became, quite simply, the best-selling novelist in history. Her first novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles, written towards the end of the First World War, introduced us to Hercule Poirot, who was to become the most popular detective in crime fiction since Sherlock Holmes. She is known throughout the world as the Queen of Crime. Her books have sold over a billion copies in the English language and another billion in over 100 foreign countries. She is the author of 80 crime novels and short story collections, 19 plays, and six novels under the name of Mary Westmacott.
Roger Hargreaves
It all started with a tickle. Roger Hargreaves’ son Adam asked him what a tickle looked like, so Roger drew a small orange man with extraordinarily long arms that could reach anywhere and tickle anyone. Roger went on to create many more Mr Men and Little Miss characters who have been delighting children and adults for generations. Sadly Roger passed away in 1988, but his son Adam took over the series, introducing new characters and exciting new adventures featuring the much-loved Mr Men and Little Miss.
Adam Hargreaves
Adam Hargreaves is a children’s author and illustrator living in East Sussex, England. The son of Roger Hargreaves, he continues his father’s popular Mr. Men series of children’s books which has sold over 200 million copies worldwide.
