Rudolf Steiner
Rudolf Steiner (1861-1925) was born in Kraljevec, Austro-Hungarian Empire (now in Croatia). He became a well-published scientific, literary, and philosophical scholar, particularly known for his work with Goethe’s scientific writings. In the early twentieth century, he developed his philosophical principles into a method for researching psychological and spiritual phenomena, which he termed Anthroposophy, or spiritual science. Steiner’s work has influenced medicine, therapies, philosophy, religious renewal, Waldorf education, special needs education, economics, biodynamic agriculture, Goethean science, architecture, drama, speech, and eurythmy. In 1924, he founded the General Anthroposophical Society. He died in Dornach, Switzerland.
George Adams (1894-1963) was a close student of Rudolf Steiner and translated many of his lectures for English-speaking audiences. From 1935 until Adams’ death in 1963, Olive Whicher collaborated with him in their research into mathematics and physics. Adams translated and published numerous books, lectures, and articles.
