About The Author

Rukmini Iyer

Rukmini Iyer

Rukmini Iyer is the bestselling author of the Roasting Tin series, with over 1.75 million copies sold worldwide. She has transformed the cookery space in the UK, leading the one-tin, one-pot, and one-pan revolution, and her books remain firm favourites among fans of maximum-flavour, minimum-hassle cooking.

Rukmini grew up in Cambridgeshire, drawing inspiration from three distinct food cultures: the Bengali and South Indian cuisine of her parents’ heritage, alongside classic eighties’ comfort foods like mac and cheese, sponge pudding, and cheese and pineapple on a stick.

She is a columnist for The Guardian and BBC Gardeners’ World magazine, and also contributes to numerous other publications, including BBC Good Food magazine, Waitrose, and Fortnum & Mason. Rukmini firmly believes that making time to eat well—whether for oneself or for family dinners—is an integral part of the day. As a new mother with limited time but a healthy appetite, she is passionate about helping other households create delicious, low-effort dinners.

When she’s not in the kitchen, Rukmini enjoys gardening, exploring food markets with her border collie and toddler in tow, and hosting gatherings at home with her husband, which often include friends, but more frequently, just the baby and the dog.
