Critics Review
A triumphant second instalment, an even more complicated and multi-layered case for Joseph Ashe. Heart-warming and terrifying in equal measure. * Elly Griffiths *
Will chill you to the bone… Fantastic * Paula Hawkins on The Drowning Place *
Sarah Hilary’s writing is bitingly authentic and riven with emotional insight * Lucy Clarke on The Drowning Place *
Highly original. Taut. Propulsive. Beautifully written; atmospheric and immersive. I’ve long admired Hilary’s writing, but this is next level stuff * Sarah Vaughan on The Drowning Place *
Gripping … Sarah Hilary brings places to life so evocatively it’s as though peaks are rising around the reader and branches cracking underfoot as the pages turn. And the characters; so real, so vulnerable, so alive * Erin Kelly *
The superb second instalment of an exquisite and original series. Chillingly beautiful, atmospheric and enthralling. Already excited for the next one. * Anna Mazzola *
