About The Author
Sean E. Avery
Sean E Avery is a teacher, writer-illustrator, sculptor, and designer born in South Africa and currently living in Perth, Western Australia. He is best known locally as the writer-illustrator of popular children’s picture books.
His book Frank’s Red Hat (2022) was shortlisted for the 2023 CBCA Picture Book of the Year and won the Shadow Judges Picture Book of the Year. It was also shortlisted for the 2023 Indie and WAYRBA awards and has been published internationally.
In 2023, Sean released Mr Clownfish, Miss Anemone and the Hermit Crab, along with two graphic novels: Friendly Bee and Friends and Friendly Bee: Woe is for Worm. The first book in his Ducky the Spy series, Expect the Unexpected, is set to publish in early 2024.
