Shere Hite
Shere Hite (1942-2020)
Shere Hite was an American-born German sex educator, writer, model, and feminist. She authored the influential works The Hite Report: A Nationwide Study of Female Sexuality and The Hite Report on Male Sexuality. She served as director of the National Organization for Women’s Feminist Sexuality Project and vice president of the International Women Writers Association. Hite also lectured at prestigious institutions including New York University, Harvard University, McGill University, Columbia University, and Cambridge University.
Liz Canner
Liz Canner is a media artist and independent filmmaker recognized for her documentary Orgasm Inc.: The Strange Science of Female Pleasure (2009). Her current project, Symphony of a City, explores community building and the housing crisis. In 2002, she received the Rockefeller Foundation Next Generation Leadership fellowship for her innovative media projects that foster democracy. Canner’s work has gained international recognition, being broadcast globally and screened at festivals such as the New York Film Festival and the Human Rights Watch Film Festival, as well as displayed at institutions like the Institute of Contemporary Art, Boston, the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and the California Museum of Photography.
