About The Author

Smail Djebali

Smail Djebali received a Master’s degree (1983) and a PhD degree (1987) in Mathematics from Paris XI University, France. He later obtained a Science Doctorate (Habilitation) from Algiers University in 2001.

His specialization lies in Mathematical Analysis, with a primary focus on Topological methods and their Applications to Differential Equations. He also possesses expertise in Nonlinear Analysis, Applied Analysis (particularly Integro-Differential Equations and Inclusions), and Algebraic Topology.

Dr. Djebali has supervised 15 PhD theses and numerous Master’s projects. He has published over 110 research papers in specialized journals with 45 collaborators. Additionally, he is the co-author of one book of lecture notes (2011) and three books (2012, 2023, and 2024).

He is a member of two journal editorial boards and serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals. Since 2006, he has reviewed for Zentralblatt für Mathematik and has completed over 170 reviews. Since July 2009, he has also been a reviewer for Mathematical Reviews, with more than 80 reviews completed.

This textbook is based on course lectures Dr. Djebali delivered over eight academic semesters for Master’s and PhD programs. It is designed as a comprehensive and self-contained teaching resource for Master’s and first-year PhD students.
